MEET YOUR CREATIVE GUIDE:

Cynthia Hauk, MFA, RYT

Cynthia Hauk is a Mindful Art Teacher and founder of Mindful Creative Muse an online school that offers simple mindful art classes, retreats, and internationally accredited teacher training certification programs online

Hi, I’m Cynthia. :) I’m passionate about helping busy women, artists, yoga teachers, meditation teachers, therapists, and creative entrepreneurs stress less, create more, and express themselves through simple, fun, and inspiring mindful art and meditation activities. I believe…

  1. Everyone is creative in their own way.

  2. Creative expression can be simple and fun AND profoundly deep and healing.

  3. Many of us have strong Inner Critics which stop us from creating and expressing ourselves freely.

  4. Creating Mindful Art and Meditations (with “permission to play”) can increase self-awareness, self-compassion, and self-expression.

  5. Mindful Art helps to embrace our Inner Critic, tap into our creativity, trust the process, and be in the present moment without judgment.

I’ve wrestled with my Inner Critic, experienced the healing power of the arts during cancer treatment, and teach from my own personal creative meditation practice (which helps me offer more guidance and support for you!). I’m excited to share more with you! 💜

WHAT IS MINDFUL ART AND MEDITATION?

We offer Mindful Art and Meditation activities which combine simple mindfulness, meditation, and simple expressive arts activities:

  1. Mindful Art focuses on the creative process (vs. the final product).

  2. The invitation is to make marks in a non-judgmental way allowing us to “collaborate with chance” and embrace how our creative impulses unfold.

  3. Mindful Art often induces a Flow State and you are encouraged to notice your breath, thoughts, sensations, emotions, etc while making art.

  4. Mindful Art is a creative form of meditation. Whether you’re an experienced artist, meditator, or have no previous experience this practice is for you!

  5. Many people find Mindful Meditative Art activities more accessible than sitting on a cushion trying to tame our meandering thoughts through more traditional styles of meditation.

  6. The great news is there's no wrong way to do it; simply show up and allow yourself to be curious about your process.

  7. Mindful Art is not Art Therapy. For additional support, you may want to work with a Therapist.

Our Mindful Meditative Art activities sometimes incorporate Expressive Art. Expressive Arts are simple explorations of multiple art forms (which may include imagery, collage, movement, writing, sound, gesture, etc). Mindful Expressive Art can help you de-stress and reconnect with yourself and others in a safe, sacred space. You are encouraged to turn inward and explore creative play. Mindful Expressive Arts combines mindfulness and meditative art activities with expressive arts (the best of both worlds!).

“Creativity is experimenting, growing, taking risks,
breaking rules...and having fun.”
— Mary Lou Cook
