We are all creative. It’s a source of joy, clarity, and deep self-discovery. But sometimes, fear or self-doubt can keep us from picking up the brush, opening the journal, or saying yes to that next step.
Today, I’ll share 2 simple ways you can unlock your creativity: while embracing both your art and your beautifully imperfect self.
A Personal Story About Saying Yes (Even When You're Scared)
Not long ago, I received an email from someone interested in joining the Therapeutic Mindful Art Journaling Teacher Training HERE. They wrote:
“I feel too small for something so big… Invest in myself, the answer is already coming to me. I’m excited to sign up and take the next step. I can see this fear was just my inner critic and imposter speaking up… Thank you for listening!”
Their words hit home… Because I’ve been there too.
Years ago, I was juggling a high-stress corporate job, full-time Clinical Psychology studies, and a thesis on “Doodling and the Brain.” I was the youngest manager at a Fortune 500 company… and I was burning out. Fast.
I started painting “Happy Trees” with Bob Ross, just for fun. And something shifted. I felt calm. Curious. Alive again.
A few months later, I saw a flyer for an art program in Italy. My heart whispered, GO. Even though I was scared and unsure, I said yes.
That “yes” changed everything. I left my corporate job, moved to Italy for that one-year post-baccalaureate arts program, eventually earned my MFA, became a teacher and coach, and built a business that helps others heal and grow with creativity (through online mindful art courses, retreats, and teacher training programs).
It was the best “Leap of Faith” next step I decided to say YES to…
So if you’re feeling that small voice inside urging you forward, listen.
Two Keys to Unlocking Your Creative Potential
1. Start Small, But Stay Consistent
You don’t need hours or perfect supplies to be creative. Just start. Even 5 minutes a day can build a habit that nourishes your spirit and strengthens your confidence.
The key is consistency. Make space for your art, even if it’s doodling in a notebook, adding color to a journal page, or writing one sentence.
What matters is that you keep showing up.
When you create regularly, you begin to:
Embrace your Inner Critic (instead of ignoring it or trying to silence it)
Build momentum and make space for your self-care
Deepen your connection to your creativity
Progress doesn’t always need to come from big, dramatic leaps. It comes from showing up with care again and again.
2. Surround Yourself with Support
No one creates in a vacuum. We need encouragement. We need feedback. We need community.
That’s why support is so essential on the creative journey.
Whether it’s a coach, a structured program, or having people who believe in you, can make all the difference.
That’s exactly why I created the therapeutic mindful art training I mentioned above: The Muse Journaling™ Teacher Training & Coaching Program HERE. In this Certification and Coaching Program, you’ll:
Deepen your creative practice
Learn how to teach and share therapeutic art
Explore a variety of unique Muse Journaling™ exercises
Receive compassionate coaching and join a supportive, heart-centered community
It’s a space where your dreams are honored, and your voice is welcomed.
You Are Worth the Investment
If you’ve ever thought:
“I’m too busy for my creativity or self-care”
“Who am I to teach or share my art?”
“I don’t know if I’m good enough.”
“Maybe I’m just not ready…”
I want you to know: You are enough. And you don’t have to be “ready” to begin.
You just need to say yes… to yourself, your art, and the journey ahead.
The Muse Journaling™ Program is about more than teaching. It’s about trusting your inner creative voice, honoring your pace and self-care, and building a sustainable, fulfilling path… Whether you teach or simply create for yourself.

Final Thoughts: Say Yes to Your Creativity
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
You just need to begin.
Start where you are. Take one small step. Create one page. Begin one training. Join one community. Say yes to the whisper that tells you your art matters, because it does.
You were made to create, to express, and to share your gifts.
I believe in you. And I’d be honored to walk beside you on this creative journey.
